CULTURAL REPORTING

Section 27 of the Sentencing Act 2002 states than an "offender may request court to hear person on personal, family, whānau, community, and cultural background" and these can be requested by the clients lawyer.

My reports outline your clients personal, cultural and community background. In addition, I include how their background could have contributed to the commission of the offence, what the client is doing to prevent further offending and what day-to-day and professional support they have around them.

Real Life Reports prides itself on providing a comprehensive and more thoughtful report. Through meeting and talking with the client, I learn who they are, and use my Criminology and Cultural insight to provide the Courts with a whole picture of who they are looking at.

The lawyers I have worked with to date have commented that my time and budget conscious reports covers all bases, provide more depth than those they have previously seen and are easy to comprehend. I look forward to working with more lawyers, meeting new clients and providing the courts with a quality report.

BENEFITS TO YOUR CLIENTS

REDUCED SENTENCES

Cultural Reports have been shown to reduce your clients sentencing. This is due to the Courts being able to read through the elements that played a role in why your client may have offended.

DEMONSTRATE CHANGE

If your client is completing a course, receiving counselling, has gained stable employment, or is proactively improving themselves in other ways, these details will be included in my report.

ACCESS TO RESOURCES

If you or your client, feel that there are resources or support services that would be beneficial and haven't been offered previously, these details and suggestions can be included.
