ABOUT REAL LIFE REPORTS

My name is Adam Palmer, and I believe Cultural Reports provide a good opportunity for clients to change their lives around. I have a passion for helping people and presenting them with opportunities and cultural report writing reflects this passion. Being able to meet with clients, and writing about their often complex lives and history, feeds into my passion of Criminology, and my aim is to work with offenders, advocating and empowering them to share their story.

Throughout my life I have learned to push myself, in order to overcome many obstacles, most evidently my severe vision impairment. I have also learned that my disability does not affect every aspect of my life. Through hard work and perseverance, I have obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and a Certificate in Social Sciences.

ADAM PALMER

Bachelor of Arts in Criminology

Certificate in Social Sciences

I was born and raised in South Auckland and attended the local schools. Manurewa High School provided me with a variety of friendships with people of different cultures, and through my own personal circumstances, I have empathy with people who have disabilities. My mother is European, and my father is New Zealand European / Māori who is a descendant of the Ngāti Porou iwi.

Although I have majored in Criminology, I also have minored in New Zealand history where I have learned in-depth about the Treaty of Waitangi and its principles and its significance in contemporary society.

With my qualifications and disability, I feel I am uniquely placed to offer a detailed appraisal suitable for the Criminal Justice System and I recognise there are many contributing factors in a person’s offending which the judge will take into account.
